Acting

Attending one of the top 30 theatre programs in the country, Samantha DiGiorgio is a student at Long Island University Post (LIU). She receives intense and critical actors training from an admirable and diverse faculty. Sam strongly believes in allowing a broad spectrum of people, art, and culture to influence her acting.

Their primary technique for onscreen acting comes from the Stanislavski Method, focusing on the objective and obstacle for any given character in any given scene. While Stanislavsky’s techniques are the foundation of Sam’s training, they are no stranger to the likes and techniques of other prominent actors like Meisner, Chekov, and Uta Hagen.

When it comes to theatrical training. A driving force behind Sam’s work comes from the Suzuki Method of Actors’ Training. At LIU Post Sam has the opportunity to study under original members of the SITI Company, who trained firsthand with Mr. Tadashi Suzuki himself. This failure based training allows for a physical obstacle to both distort and strengthen the power of the voice and feed the direct intention of a given character. In this training, and in Sam’s work as a whole, the audience plays a huge role in their performance and in the truth of the characters they portray.
